Needs

The park of the Seille was built at Metz (FRANCE) in 2000. The target was to create the park on an abandoned railway site with a High Quality Environmental approach. Thus, the project was developed on three lines:

  • Storage and  treatment of storm water runoff from an adjacent urban area integrated into the park
  • Creation of a new urban landscape with indigenous vegetation
  • Renaturation of  the river Seille, flowing along the park

Solution

SINBIO was a part of the project team and responsible for:

  • stormwater storage and treatment
  • renaturation of the river
  • creation of a new arm of the river

Benefits

The park is now greatly appreciated by the citizens of Metz while giving ancillary benefits in terms of a landscape, water quality and natural habitats.
