Based in Port Stephens, Australia, WET Systems (WETS) provide extensive expertise in ecological technologies to deliver integrated, nature-based, climate-friendly, sustainable wastewater solutions. We offer leading innovative wetland design and engineering services throughout Australasia and internationally, specialising in challenging wastewater from industrial, oil & gas, landfill, agricultural and remote sites. A key priority for WETS is to apply its know-how to develop sustainable wastewater management systems for developing countries and First Nations communities in the Asia-Pacific region. We also specialise in wetlands for biodiversity benefits, including natural ecosystem restoration and installation of floating wetlands.

WETS founding Director and Senior Designer, Dr Tom Headley, has been working with wetlands since 1996. Starting from a strong research foundation, Tom has always placed emphasis on the practical application of scientific knowledge in the use of wetland technologies to solve real world challenges around the world. Since 2011, Tom has been senior wetland design specialist for one of the largest and most inspiring industrial constructed wetlands in the world, which passively treats 175,000 m3/d of oily wastewater using 491 ha of surface flow wetlands in the desert of Oman.
